bollywood dreams

Bollywood Dreams captures every facet of the making of a Bollywood film. Starting with the touring cinema caravans which bring cinema in portable tents to Indias villages. The projects continues with behind the scenes glimpses of the stars and the directors, their private dressing rooms, the editing chamber, to the streets where the enormous promotional posters adorn the towns and cities, and the cinemas, large and small, all over the country.

Singular in its conception, Bollywood Dreams stands as an important testament to the power of cinema in the 20th century to a population of almost one billion. In India, cinema is a social phenomenon and an essential part of daily life with over 14 million avid viewers. Movie stars are treated like gods literally and are no match even for American standards of celebrity obsession.
